The PHR Battery Relocation Kit is the only battery box designed to fit in the spare tire well in the Supra. It is a smaller size than other battery boxes and has lower profile to accommodate the targa top.
Its design allows for it to be bolted down without having to modify the box. The bolts sit below the floor of the box in the north and south configuration instead of the east and west configuration like other boxes. This means the battery hold downs don't also act as your box hold downs. The east and west configuration doesn't allow you to bolt the box in place because the factory fuel tank takes up the space needed, making installation impossible without completely modifying the hold downs. By switching the bolt locations to the north south configuration, it can bolt to the factory floor without hitting the factory fuel tank and no modifications to the box are required.
It is constructed out of .090 wall aluminum, is fully sealed and up to NHRA and other sanctioning bodies requirements.
The top is fit very precisely and is latched in place using two draw latches. This makes getting to your battery very simple.
The kit comes with the proper length of 1/0 gauge positive battery cable to run back to the front of the vehicle, as well as enough negative cable to attach to the chassis in the back. It comes with a marine grade fuse holder and 300 amp fuse. Also included are billet eyelets and battery terminals for attaching to the battery.
The battery tie down (not shown) is hidden inside the box and no studs protrude through the top. The hold down portion is constructed of stainless steel.
The battery is designed to fit a group size 26 battery. It is also known to work with group size 34 Optima brand batteries as well. There are several other batteries we have not test fit, but being smaller sized are sure to work.
The internal dimensions of the box are 7.8 inches wide x 11.8 inches long x 8.2 inches tall.
