Description

FuelTech's FT550 is more than an ECU offering electronic fuel injection, integrated dashboard, data acquisition, and power management. The FT550 is designed for engines with up to 12 cylinders, or up to 4 rotors, and features 14 programmable inputs and 24 outputs. In addition to offering all of the features and functions of the FT450, including touchscreen display, 4 programmable display screens, customizable splash screen, sequential injection and ignition, O2 closed loop, active traction control, integrated boost controller, internal datalogger, progressive and PRO-Nitrous controls, odometers, drag racing features, the FT550 is loaded with additional features such as electronic throttle control, inclinometer gauge, integrated GearController with strain gauge sensor on the shifter for more efficient gear shift cuts, built-in accelerometer (G-meter), and gyroscope. The FT550 is housed in a high-quality ABS case and is IP67 rated for marine and off-road applications.

The FuelTech FT550 is the perfect aftermarket ECU for projects that require more features, including GearController (power-shifts), built-in accelerometer (G-meter) and gyroscope; In addition to all PowerFT ECU line features such as sequential injection and ignition, O2 closed loop, active traction control, integrated BoostController, internal datalogger, progressive and PRO-Nitrous controls, odometers, electronic throttle control, inclinometer, drag racing features and more.

It also features a sturdy and high-quality waterproof plastic case, automotive connectors with 52 pins, USB communication and two CAN Bus ports, 14 inputs and 24 outputs that are fully configurable.

Features the same FT600 dashboard design, including features like engine start button, new inclinometer gauges and virtual LEDs for arrows, headlights and other functions. The screen allows editing the maps directly on the module, without the need for computer use, seamless integration between the ECU and Vehicle dashboard!

The FT550 ECU use the same FTManager software of the FT600, with all the exact same features and functionalities, including the newest update that allows the user to update their fuel map by applying the O2 closed loop corrections that took place from a log file. The map files of all the PowerFT ECUs are compatible with each other, meaning that you can upgrade ECUs and keep the same tune you had already.

Product intended for off road race-only, ground vehicle use only. FuelTech is not responsible for any misuse of these products. Check with your local authorities regarding highway laws in your area.

THE SAME VCU ALSO CONTROLS
ELECTRIC MOTORS

Starting from version 5.10, the PowerFT ECUs will implement specific functions for the control of electric vehicles. This will allow you to create and develop hybrid and fully electric projects, relying on the already established efficiency, precision and reliability of FuelTech products.

Among the highlights we offer:

  • New programmable tables of torque control and electric motor regeneration so that the user can control, in a precise and safe way, the delivery of torque requirements for each project.

  • The CREEPING function, which when configured allows the car to crawl smoothly immediately after releasing the brake pedal and in some situations can work as a ramp assist. This is an ideal feature for urban use, as it provides the electrified vehicle with similar behavior to a vehicle equipped with an automatic drivetrain.

  • The GEARCONTROLLER function aids gear shifting on vehicles equipped with manual transmissions. For example, controlling engine torque when the clutch pedal is pressed or through an auxiliary button on the shifter.

  • Fully configurable regeneration system control, which transforms braking action into electrical energy to recharge the batteries, similarly found in the most sophisticated vehicles in the world.

  • Control of accessories such as the DC-DC charging for the 12 V battery, vacuum pump for the brake booster, front and rear signaling lights, air conditioning and cooling of the electrical systems.

  • Full control of the most popular Battery Management Systems and frequency inverters on the market.

  • Inputs and outputs to aid the control of the battery recharging process, which increases safety for the vehicle and for the user.
